  • Isabelle graduated from La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2019 with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Physiotherapy Practice.

Since then she has worked in the public hospital system including outpatient and rehabilitation physiotherapy both in Victoria and Hobart, and in private practice.

Isabelle has a passion for rehabilitation and neurological physiotherapy, which makes her a perfect fit to the team at Advanced Rehabilitation Tasmania (ART). She has a diverse skill set in the management of neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injury, falls/balance and Parkinson's Disease.

Isabelle has a strong interest in the assessment and treatment of persistent post-concussion symptoms and dizzy patients such as BPPV (vertigo), vestibular migraines, vestibular neuritis and persistent perceptual postural dizziness. She finds this area extremely rewarding and has completed further training in concussion and vestibular physiotherapy, gaining competency in vestibular dysfunction and management through a clinical competency course by Vestibular Education Australia.

Isabelle loves working with clients to achieve their individual goals, and to ensure they can engage in activities that are meaningful to them. She is excited to utilise the specialist equipment available at ART in order to achieve these goals.

Outside of work, Isabelle enjoys making the most of every day and is always looking to take on a new challenge. Lately, Isabelle been running Tasmania’s trails, training for her next triathlon, and has gained her level 2 certificate in Ski Instructing.

  • Leanne started her professional career as an Exercise Physiologist, graduating from UTAS 1998. Her passion for Underwater Hockey (not a spectator sport, but loads of
fun) took her to Perth WA, where she completed her Physiotherapy studies, qualifying in 2004 (Curtin University of Technology).

Even then, neurological conditions piqued her interest and she soon completed studies in the Bobath technique. After working in the acute hospital setting and in aged care (and probably holding her breath for too long), Leanne moved to the USA where she worked in a rehabilitation centre as a Physical Therapist. During these years Leanne’s interest in
neurological conditions grew, leading to a Post Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation (2009 UWA).

Leanne experienced severe illness on her return to Australia, which led to her passion for living a more healthy and holistic lifestyle. She can often be found with a bottle of essential oil in her hand, discussing a recipe for cleaning the home with a non-toxic home-made mix, enjoying a heathy meal with friends and family, or finding peace in nature.

The return to health, assisted by these lifestyle changes, was also facilitated by regular pilates sessions. These sessions were so inspiring that she completed her Polestar Instructor training in 2000 and now loves incorporating her neuro skills with pilates whilst having an holistic approach.

Leanne has worked in many settings including the acute and rehabilitation wards in hospitals, in aged care, in clients homes, and now loving private practice. She is back in the pool (holding her breath) and living life to the full.

  • Masters in Clinical Neurological Rehabilitation
    (Physiotherapy)

Claire trained as a physiotherapist in Perth, Western Australia. She worked in acute public hospital and private practice settings before specialising in rehabilitating complex neurological conditions in Tasmania in 2004.

Claire has continually worked to advance her practice, including completing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Neurological Rehabilitation at Flinders University in 2017. Claire’s professional development activities have been centred on stroke rehabilitation, spasticity management, and restoring functional mobility, with a special interest in gait rehabilitation. Claire has also worked alongside researchers at Menzies on projects related to fall prevention and home-based exercise programs using interactive technologies. Claire has also worked as a project officer in a Tasmanian Health Service team that worked to develop resources to educate clinicians and patients on identifying and managing mild TBI.

With a career-long interest in translating research into practice, Claire is excited to join the team at ART because of the unique opportunities it offers its clients to reach their therapy goals using a combination of new robotic technologies and a range of traditional and Pilates-based therapy options.

Claire has worked to empower patients and communities to achieve optimal health and well-being goals throughout her career. In addition to her physio practice, Claire has volunteered and been employed as a Health Educator statewide in Tasmania for the Water Well Project, an NFP established in Australia to improve the health literacy of our migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker communities.

Claire and her family live on the Eastern Shore and have loved living in a community close to the ocean. A casual conversation about the weather with Claire can become very detailed as she closely monitors rainfall to help sustain her vegetable garden, native plantings, and small orchards established on permaculture principles. Her attention to the weather extends to a detailed interest in wind, swell, and tide forecasts to keep track of potential surf opportunities- Claire and her family are all keen surfers.
